Patrick McNeely's Magic bee food recipe

Patrick McNeely's  Magic bee food recipe:

5lbs sugar
1/2 gallon water
1/2cc lemongrass oil
1/2cc mint oil
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cc b-vitamin complex
1 cc poultry cell
Pinch of yeast

The ingredients are not as far-fetched as they seem. I am extremely suspect of essential oils but their application here has proven effective.
The milk is a recent addition, a recommendation gleaned from "ABC and XYZ of Bee Culture", I found it several other old sources and decided to try it.
The poultry cell and b-vitamins are from my own observations, they seem to have an affinity for iron and b-vitamins.
The mix has incredible brood stimulating properties, it's very attractive to bees are wasps.
